Is Pregnancy massage right for me?
The nurturing touch of massage can be especially helpful if you are expecting a child or have just given birth. Also known as pre- or post-natal massage, it is specifically relieves the physical and emotional strains associated with pregnancy and childbirth.

It eases joint, neck and back pain, promotes healthy blood flow to mother and baby, and encourages relaxation.

It also helps cultivate good posture, reduces stress on weight-bearing joints and strengthens the abdominal muscles. In addition, it may lessen stretching or scarring of the skin around the belly.

If you are pregnant, it is important that your massage therapist has a full understanding of pregnancy and the anatomy of the pregnant woman.

it is usually conducted using a massage table in a semi-reclining position. This ensures the comfort and safety of both you and your baby. During the massage you will turn from side to side with pillows and padding to keep you comfortable.

It is beneficial for almost everyone who is pregnant or has recently given birth. Certain specific conditions may preclude this massage. If in doubt, consult your GP or midwife.
